iPhone Pic Project Turns 180

Posted on by Joe Cavazos

The #iphonepicoftheday turned 180 today. Personally the memories that are attached with these pics are usually greater then the photos.  Whether it's eating at Dirty Al's with friends, hanging out at the beach with the family, late night runs to Walmart with Lu, celebrating weddings and birthdays, they help me recall smaller portions of life that are sometimes easily forgotten.

Below are some of my favorites, you can check out the rest here

Hipstamatic saves the pic of the day project

Posted on by Joe Cavazos

I took a break from the iphone pic of the day project while on vacation last week. Honestly before the vacation I was getting to a point where the project was becoming to feel like a chore. What was once a break from the norm had become systematic.

On the second day of our trip my sister showed me new camera app called Hipstamatic.  This app emulates old plastic cameras and also give you the option to switch virtual lens, flash, and film.  At first I thought it was just another novelty app, but what app on the iphone isn't a novelty.

This app made it fun to take pics again.  I wasn't too crazy about the wait time from taking the pic and seeing the final, but I guess it adds to the suspense of looking at it.

So hip hip hooray for Hipstamatic. Here's just a few shots from the first couple of days with it.

iPhone Pic Project Turns 30

Posted on by Joe Cavazos

It's been 30 days since I've started the iPhone Pic Project.  It took a while to get use to taking pics everyday, now it has just become second nature.  My favorite types of photographs have been taking everday objects and them shooting in a different perspective.

Some consequences of creativity:

  • Creativit leaks, I've notice I've been able to be more creative in other areas of my work.
  • I've met another great iphone pic photographer, Mitch Bolton, you can follow him here or check out his pics here.
  • A couple pics have inspired some of my designs.
  • It has helped me to pause more.
